(Tanka of an enlightened leaf)
Some form muddy pools
yet some others run down drains
blessed to make few pearls
those that run off lose their self
the resilient shine forth

Water sustains life
relentless my thirsty roots
what worth then these pearls
an ephemeral mirage
not ego let deeds make me
[The tiny, newly unfurled leaf of my Colocasia plant juggles with its first rain drops in a solemn moment of self-realisation.]

You had to dig deep to form a belief in the leaf. Bet you were re-leafed to draw such an inspirational drop.

Thanks, Pat. Pearls of such wisdom often up-leaf-t my soul and then my mind takes a leaf of faith against that back-drop, lest I leaf out any grafting unwitting-leaf…

Re-leaf please. Your answer was obviously punintended.

Oh yes…releafed. My mind is slightly un-pun-ctional after that pun-ctilious tête-à-tête with the wiseleaf.

One of your best!
Especially the valuable lesson – not ego let deeds make me.
Of course, the amazing pictures of those glistening drops.
