What a fabulous bird. I’ve never seen one with such coloring. He may be called a “small” kite, but he looks large, and full of purpose!

Indeed, Ma’am! This kite is a subspecies of the Black Kite (Milvus migrans) and was earlier known as the Pariah Kite. It is one of the most common raptors in this part of our country. 🙂
